One of my favorite things about tanner was his humor, but most of the time is was VERY immature. Most of the time I loved it, but sometimes it drove me crazy. Since he has left he has the same humor with a very mature attitude. I love it! He is just the same old Tanner, except better.
So he is currently on his mission in Ecuador, which has a similar lifestyle as El Salvador. I have turned to him for a lot of advice since I have gotten my call and started getting ready. He knows what I am going through and he knows me best.
Sometimes on Mondays when he emails his mom, he will send me something too. Since he knows I am leaving, he sent me some advices this week. These are some of the things he sent me, im just putting my favorite ones on here but they were all SOO good:
2. dont cry in your talk wait till after or when you are in the mtc or if your are going to mention me in your talk WHICH you better then you have permission to cry
4. spend this last week with your FAMILY NOBODY ELSE. if i was home i would tell you otra cosa but im not so spend every last second with your family.
5. take lots of pictures with your family and utah and all that good stuff the latinos love to see it :) oh and take a picture with me of course. but dont take like five albums of pictures just like one or two and then have your fam send more when you are in the field.
6. When you get to the mtc and the people that have 1 week their are like hola de donde es a donde va and they think they know spanish but they really dont tell them this "cuando sepas ingles hablamos mmk pumpkin!" make em feel stupid oh and dont gross yourself out with the bathrooms at the mtc.
7. in the mtc enjoy the food its gonna give you gas and it will probably be a little uncomfortable but jsut let it all go you arent the only one in the mtc with this problem.
8 dont feel stupid when you leave the mtc and you feel like you have learned nothing. you will have learned a bunch but it jsut wont be available yet.
10. when you get to the field just be happy even when you know nothing and you want to kill your companion just smile and laugh.
11. the people are gonna fall in love with your eyes and for that reason you will probably have a lot of baptisms but remember alma 37:6-7 the lord works in small ways to bring about the salvation of many! (like how i just quoted a scriptures?) haha
This one is my favorite because he always used to tell me my eyes were like "forever" haha just to be dumb, so this one is more of an inside joke.
15. yes you can talk to the guy missionaries but dont you dare get distracted! and fall in love and fall out of the mtc if your gonna fall in love and get married do it BEFORE you get set apart!
16. the first four months of your mission you are not going to understand a DANG thing but just get through it. oh and something i wanna teach you right now in spanish is se construction como se dice how is it said como se pronuncia (how is it pronunciated) its used in like EVERYTHING but i just learned it like a month ago so im giving you the advantage.
17. dont try and translate sayings from english to spanish you will look stupid.
19. tell your mom to send packages for your companions that will have absolutely nothing, you will need a debit card from the states but every chance you get to like go to a nice restaurant (which is rare) you buy not like every week but when you have big meetings in the city and stuff but dont let them take advantage of you either.
21. summer just love the mission do it and do it right leave it all on the court. Its the best decision you will ever make. if you make it to the mtc dont your dare go home. i will cry knowing off all the blessings your are going to miss. Just smile be happy serve the lord with all your heart might mind and strength.
Just know i love you like crazy and your the best FBF in the world. Have the BEST mission ever and oh man cant wait to see you in december!!!!!

Couldn't ask for any better advice :) I love him!! I have known from the beginning that he came into my life for a reason, and right now, I think I am understanding the reason.

you are going to be a great missionary summer! seriously. people are going to be blessed beyond measure to have you teach them! i hope you still can blog on your mission.. i know a girl from my ward did while serving in the Netherlands. you should look into it, cause i'd love to read about your mission!
i am so grateful he is in your life! he knows you so well, and knows how to cheer you up and especially push your buttons. I'm glad that he has been able to still be here for you, while he is on his mission. i know he is one of your biggest supporters.. as am i. Now summer i love you! and i know they will "fall in love with your eyes" ha ha. i hope tanner gets to read this post and realize the blessing that you are to all of us. love you
